Krämer systems are used in processes where cutting, punching, milling, and planing occur, and where various types of waste are generated during the process: from dust to edge strips, paper and film residues, to punch grids, and cardboard waste.

Dust or waste is extracted directly at the point of generation, i.e., right at the cutting, punching, or sawing machines, so that products are not further contaminated in the production process. From there, the extracted air is transported to separators that separate the waste from the air. The air is then cleaned in filtration systems so that it can be returned to the hall in an energy-efficient manner. The waste is further transported and then compressed in presses, or it is an intermediate product that is stored in silos before further processing. Thanks to automatic control and digital monitoring systems, handling the extraction systems is very user-friendly, efficient, low-maintenance, and even remotely operable.
The extraction system operates and keeps your production process clean and free from dust and waste that could damage the product or the production machines. We are still available should changes in your production process arise that require an adjustment of the plant.
That’s a difficult question and the quick answer is: it depends! It depends on whether it involves a tendering process, which naturally takes longer than a direct commission. And, of course, it depends on how complex the production process is and what characteristics the waste to be extracted has. It also depends on whether only parts of a plant or a completely new overall plant are needed. Normally, we come to you, look at the production and the material to be extracted, and discuss everything important with you. Then we will provide you with an offer within a week. After the order is placed, we create all necessary plant layouts, 3D schematics, and plan the assembly and installation. While the plant parts are being produced here, important preparations can already be made on-site by the customer, such as laying electrical connections, preparing floor plates, etc.

Krämer systems are used in the collection of contaminated or too old bottles that cannot be cleaned and reused. These bottles are captured from the bottle carousel, shredded, and introduced into the recycling process. Non-recyclable PET bottle caps are also captured and sent for recycling.
The extracted dust is separated from the air in a filter system. The cleaned air is returned to the production hall, and the dust is transported, via a discharge element (screw conveyor, agitator, etc.) below the filter, and then pressed into pellets or otherwise recycled.

Hygienic standards in food production and packaging are extremely high. To avoid contamination of food products, dust and other process waste needs to be removed from the process line as quickly as possible. Our

Cutting and punching remnants are captured directly at the machines where they occur. From there, they are sent for recycling or shredded beforehand if they involve particularly bulky die-cut grids or cartons.
Standardly, Krämer extraction and disposal systems feature so-called clean air recirculation. This means that the dust- and particle-laden hall air, which is usually air-conditioned, is cleaned and then returned to the hall. This saves valuable energy, especially in winter, as the air does not need to be heated twice.
Our digital control systems enable remote access via any PC that has the software and authorization to control the plant. The software setup is straightforward.

Recycling
In recycling companies our devices are utilized to convey recycling goods as well as to store and process resources to be recycled. Increasing material prices ask for effective recycling systems in order to keep costs at a reasonable level and to actively contribute to resource efficiency. Our units are used in:

Edge strips and trimmings occur in the processing of paper, printed products, foils, and cartons. If these are not quickly removed from production, they can cause disturbances or even production interruptions. In addition, these wastes can be compacted and further used as recyclable material.

The actual extraction process is not digital because dust, edge trimmings, and other wastes must be physically transported, crushed, cleaned, and compressed. However, control of the system is firmly in digital hands: both monitoring sensors and other electronic system components are integrated into the digital control so that they can be operated on the monitors of the switch cabinets and now even on the monitors of a normal PC.
Absolutely not! Our systems are always custom-tailored to the specific needs of our customer’s production process. Only the design of the plant for the corresponding types of waste, volumes, and machine utilization enables efficient operation. For example, certain types of waste may require certain components to be made of stainless steel. Or the flow behavior of a particular substance requires different dimensions in the transport of the waste. Therefore, a “one-size-fits-all” is not realistic for us.

Hygiene & nonwovens
The production and processing of household products and non-wovens leads to dust and dust-laden textile trimmings. A systematic and safe extraction and disposal system is needed to ensure that the quality of non-woven panels and other products is not affected. Krämer systems are particularly used in the:
- extraction of chad and cutting waste in the processing of non-wovens for medical, technical or hygienic purposes such as the production of nappies, FFP2-masks, mouth-nose-coverings etc.
- extraction of cutting or punching waste in the processing of household products such as coffee and tea filters and tea bags
- shredding and disposal of extracted waste
- compaction of waste in container or baling presses.

Capture occurs directly at the machines where the nonwoven fabric is trimmed, ensuring that both dust and cutting remnants do not enter further production and treatment of the fabric. The captured dust and waste material are then transported away and sent for recycling.
The extracted waste material is transported away from production and either recycled loosely, temporarily stored, or – usually – first compressed into bales or containers. For particularly bulky waste, it may be necessary to shred the material before transport to make the further transport more energy-efficient.
The maintenance effort of Krämer systems is very low. Depending on the type and amount of waste, however, it may be necessary to perform maintenance once a year. This can be done by us or by the trained technician of the customer.

Packaging
The production of packaging material implies process waste such as edge trimmings, foil cuttings or punch grids and dust from different material. This waste must be removed from the production process reliably to guarantee for a clean and healthy machine environment. Some waste material can also be recycled and therefore needs to be collected and fed into recycling. The packaging industry uses our extraction and conveyor systems in the following areas:
- extraction of chad and cutting waste in the processing of various packaging materials such as paper, foil, cardboard, expanded plastics, EPS, XPS, aluminum and other metals
